United Methodist Women
The group of United Methodist Women (UMW) is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ. UMW seeks to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. You are encouraged to join a circle, but if that is not possible, you can be a UMW member at large. (A "circle" is a group of people sharing a common interest.) The UMW has numerous circles that meet at various times, offering Church of the Messiah women ample opportunity to participate. The UMW holds two rummage and bake sales every year, one in April and one in October. These huge events support UMW mission projects.
In addition to the listed circles, there is a HELP Circle -- Hands Engaged in Loving Projects. This circle does not hold meetings, yet gathers to help with UMW projects throughout the year as needed. Contact Cortney Reed at email@example.com for additional information about the HELP Circle.
For more information about UMW, contact the president of UMW, Patty Bibbo.
