Youth Serving in Music Ministry
Messiah Youth Choir
This choir is for middle school and high school students. We rehearse at 12:15 p.m. on Sundays and sing at the 11:00 a.m. service once per month.
Comprised of middle and high school youth in grades 6 through 12 interested in ringing handbells, this group which welcomes ringers that have experience ringing. We practice on Monday evenings at 6:15pm and ring in worship for the 11:00 a.m. service once a month, September through May and outside our walls in the community.
If a student would like to participate but they have no ringing experience, it is recommended that the ringer have other instrumental or musical skills (such as piano lessons, band, orchestra, etc.). Those whom do not have ringing experience are also encouraged to contact the director so that a plan can be formulated to ensure success of the individual. This plan may include ringing in the middle school bell group until proficiency is obtained.
This group is comprised of middle school and high school youth selected by the director who display proficiency in their musical abilities on handbells. A minimum of two years handbell ringing is required to join. The group works on solo and ensemble skills and leads both in worship and outside our walls in the community.
