Meet Jim Wilson

What I do at Messiah:
It is a sacred honor to lead our congregation through preaching, teaching, administration, and a variety of expressions of local church ministry.
My God Story:
I was raised in a Christian home and nurtured in the faith by a loving congregation. During the summer of 1985, I responded to the call of ordained ministry while serving as a summer chaplain at Mammoth Cave National Park. My faith journey has had many "mile-marker moments" where I have re-affirmed and deepened my relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
My Education:
B.A. in Journalism Broadcasting, The Ohio State University, 1986

Master of Divinity, United Theological Seminary, 1990

Doctorate of Ministry, United Theological Seminary, 1994
My Family:
Nancy and I met while attending The Ohio State University and were married in 1987. Our first child, JC, died shortly after birth in 1988. Our second child, Bradley, died at the age of 19 after a lifetime of multiple handicapping conditions. Our third son, Chase, is a junior at Westerville Central High School. Our fourth son, Dominic, was stillborn in 1997.
My Hobbies:
My greatest joy is watching my son, Chase, participate in high school athletics and academics. Likewise, an afternoon in Ohio Stadium watching the Buckeyes play is high on the list of favorite things to do. I enjoy running and physical fitness. Nancy and I enjoy traveling, swimming and taking spontaneous trips to Amish country.
