Katherine Currier (Pastor Kathy) moved to Westerville from Northwest Ohio with her husband, Jim, in February of 2015.  Originally from Liberty Center, Pastor Kathy has served as pastor in the West Ohio Conference since 2004; her congregations have included Malinta Memorial UMC, Florida-Independence UMC’s, and the Fayette UMC.

Pastor Kathy is responsible for the day-to-day operations at Messiah, as well as leading the Contemporary Worship Service in preaching and teaching;  Adult Discipleship Ministry including small groups, classes, men's and women's ministries, and helping others grow in discipleship in a variety of ways; and helping enhance worship services with the use of Media. Pastor Kathy oversees the Staff and programs at Church of the Messiah and loves to connect new members with one of the over 100 ministries we offer.

Missions is at the heart of Pastor Kathy's ministry; she and her husband, Jim, have led many mission teams both within the U.S. and across the border to Nuevo Progreso, Mexico.  They are currently working with a ministry of the United Methodist Church in Mexico, to provide a children's home in Mexico, Nuevo Progreso House of Hope.

From Pastor Kathy: "I love serving at Church of the Messiah! It's such a great place to help people journey in their faith, with so many opportunities for people to live out their passion and gifts."
