Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14
The last Sunday of our regular Sunday school
classes for children is June 6. Summer Sunday school follows a
different schedule:
■ Sunday school for ages 3
to grade 5 will be available during 9:30 a.m. worship only.
■ A preschool class will be
available for 11 a.m. worship in room 19.
■ The goal of Summer Sunday
school is to give kids an experiential class focused on worship,
which will involve music, prayer, story and feast.
■ All students will begin
in the chapel at 9:30. There will be NO Children’s Moments this
summer.
■ The first 20 minutes will
involve large-group music, prayer and activities.
■ Children age 3 to rising
grade 2 will stay in the chapel for the hour. Rising third- through
fifth-graders will move to the lounge for the second half of the
class. Older students will be picked up from the lounge at the end
of the worship hour.
■ Children under 3 years
old will be cared for in the nursery.
■ Because Sunday school
teachers have the summer off, assistance from parents and others
will be necessary to ensure the safety and enjoyment of kids in the
kids’ worship setting.
■ At 11 a.m., school-aged
children can attend either service. Young Readers Bulletins are
available for them to follow the service, and McVay has a Kids
Corner, which provides children various quiet activities.
