Children's Summer Sunday school

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

The last Sunday of our regular Sunday school classes for children is June 6. Summer Sunday school follows a different schedule:

Sunday school for ages 3 to grade 5 will be available during 9:30 a.m. worship only.

A preschool class will be available for 11 a.m. worship in room 19.

The goal of Summer Sunday school is to give kids an experiential class focused on worship, which will involve music, prayer, story and feast.

All students will begin in the chapel at 9:30. There will be NO Children’s Moments this summer.

The first 20 minutes will involve large-group music, prayer and activities.

Children age 3 to rising grade 2 will stay in the chapel for the hour. Rising third- through fifth-graders will move to the lounge for the second half of the class. Older students will be picked up from the lounge at the end of the worship hour.

Children under 3 years old will be cared for in the nursery.

Because Sunday school teachers have the summer off, assistance from parents and others will be necessary to ensure the safety and enjoyment of kids in the kids’ worship setting.

At 11 a.m., school-aged children can attend either service. Young Readers Bulletins are available for them to follow the service, and McVay has a Kids Corner, which provides children various quiet activities.
