2011  ADULT MUSICAL MINISTRIES INFORMATION

SANCTUARY CHOIR   sings at the 8:15 a.m. Sunday Worship. We rehearse on Sunday mornings from 7:30-8:15. The Sanctuary Choir sings on the second Sunday each month and select fourth or fifth Sundays as the schedule works out. The Sanctuary Choir gets a break when the Men of Messiah sing on the first Sunday and the handbell ministry leads on the third Sunday. Members of Sanctuary Choir often join in the special music for Christmas and Easter.  Lindsay Smith, director   email Lindsay:   lsmith@messiahumc.net 

 CHANCEL CHOIR  sings at the 11 a.m. Sunday Worship each week, except for the third Sunday when the handbell ministry leads.  We rehearse in the sanctuary Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. In addition to our Wednesday rehearsals, we rehearse on Sunday mornings from 10:30-11:00 a.m.   Each year the Chancel Choir will be involved leading worship in a Christmas and Easter worship service with orchestra.

MEN OF MESSIAH  sings once a month at the 8:15 a.m. Sunday Worship.  We sing on the first Sunday of each month. We share in a breakfast each month at 7 a.m. We rehearse on the Sunday mornings we sing in worship from 7:30-8:15 a.m.

BAND OF GRACE  leads in worship each week at 11 a.m. Celebration!  Worship.  Instrumentalists and singers are integrated into a rotating schedule as gifts appear and needs are apparent. The Band of Grace rehearses on Tuesday nights from 7-9 p.m.

AWAKENING TEAM leads in worship (first, second, fourth and fifth Sundays)  at 9:30 a.m. Awakening Worship. Instrumentalists and singers are invited or welcomed by audition and interview. We enjoy styles from Renaissance, to Jazz, to Gospel, to contemporary music.  The Awakening Team plays an important role with our major works with the adult choirs and their rehearsals vary around that cantata schedule. Some Wednesdays, some Thursdays.

SANCTUARY CHIMES   rehearses on Mondays from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and is for beginning and intermediate ringers.  NO experience is necessary to join in here!    They ring for 8:15 worship (third Sunday) once a month.
