Meet Stan Ling
Messiah Senior Pastor
What I do at Messiah:
It is my privilege to proclaim and teach the gospel, to encourage others in serving, and to cast a vision for our direction. I enjoy inviting people into places of discovery, exploration and response to God’s grace as well as coaching persons in discerning God’s call and use of spiritual gifts.

My God story:
My understanding of prayer and love for scripture comes from my family roots. Personal relationship with Christ was born in times of revival and renewal while on retreat. Outreach and mission comes from relationships in Haiti, Mexico, and Africa. Servant Leadership comes through relationships with Deborah, George, Debbie, David, Laurie, and Dee.

My family:
Deborah and I have been married for 31 years. Deborah is a Certified Spiritual Director in private practice. Our son, Thomas is a New Yorker working at the Metropolitan Art Museum in the Photographic Department. His twin sister Micah is teaching at Indiana University in a Creative Writing Fellowship program.

My hobbies:
I hope to give up MOVING as a hobby and get back to the water, the bike trails, and see if my running shoes still fit. I have also given up gardening since all I ever did was weeding. Riding the Harley is still number 1 in this area of life.
